Add a 4-6mm air hose to a compressor, can be anything from a small fish tank airator to a 50L/min small pump. If you want to cut wood or do a lot of engraving, a bit more flow is needed. On the end of the hose, add a metal or plastic pipe you can bend. (i use 4mm brake lines). Aim the pipe to where the cut hits.
The k40 can't adjust z-height in any way that I can see. The honeycomb bed is 20.25mm thick, and the new lens is some distance lower than the old one, though I'm not sure exactly how much because of the distance between the lens and the nozzle (the old stock lens was flush with the bottom of its holder).
Here is a test of Thunder Laser ’s Air Assist Control using Lightburn. There are 2 modes for air assist. Cut and Engrave. The 2 air solenoids are controlled with the smart board. There are also 2 needle valves mounted on the front left panel so you can adjust the flow for each mode as well as momentary push buttons to test the flow.
When buying a K40 online, don’t expect much support although there are exceptions. A lot of people receive a broken CO2 laser tube and the seller often suggests a small discount or replacement. Tubes can be bought online for around $100-$200. Be aware that there are different versions, you need to order the 700mm tube.
