sometimes my 70-300 IS USM does not autofocus. Apr 26, 2011. it is the only lens that does this. I thought it was a dirty contact, but wiping the contacts has not cured the problem. I can wiggle the bayonette, turn the camera on and off and take the lens on and off and any of these may or may not get it going, but it always comes back around.
