Sounds like a typical laser power supply that supplies all the needed voltages for operation. I am sure any glass tube CO2 laser power supply rated for 20 ma would work for the laser itself. From what I have been able to research in the past, the tube is a standard tube and has not been modified for use in the GF.

Not that I’ve seen. I've never heard of them actually sending anyone a laser tube. When mine started getting weak (about 3 years of heavy use) I paid the $499 to have it replaced by the company. But I'm in the US, it'd cost you more with the shipping. I have owned my GlowForge Basic for four years June 18th.
It was far from a perfect solution. The window seal plate did not have a way to attach the flexible duct, so I did not even open the package after it arrived. As it turned out, I received a defective unit. The laser light did not work, so it could not do anything except make some noise. Glowforge customer support was easy to use.
