My xcarve is 500mmx500mm and ive had trouble with the origin as well. sometimes it will go “out of bounds” and jam up the stepper motors even though i am working in the work space. I have “traced” the image and the controllers are working but not the laser. LightBurn’s default for the $30 is 1000 (so is GRBL’s).

Basically I can tell you its the 60w co2 laser off of ebay. You're following the path I went down basically. Xcarve - > Jtech -> 100 Watt Thunder laser. From there I bought a PM0-25MV manual metal mill and converted it to CNC. Then I bought a Hitorque 5100 lathe from Little machine shop and converted it to CNC.

I did look into the search area first. I purchased an X carve machine last January and purchased the J-tech 7watt laser for the machine along with Lightburn Software in December 2019. I’m running the software on a mac with high Sierra 10.13.6. I use an x-controller to running the cnc and laser.
